Cyril Pahinui is our 2018 David Malo recipient.  The son of Gabby Pahinui.  Cyril is an accomplished Hawaiian musician, performed nationally/internationally, and is dedicated to teaching our youth Hawaiian music.  We normally have our David Malo recipient attend our Friday meeting to meet our members.  Unfortunately, Cyril’s medical condition requires continuous treatment at Queen's Medical Center.  His wife, Chelle, will be our guest, Friday, July 27, and she will "introduce" Cyril's music and accomplishments to us. 

 

Please plan on attending our Friday, July 27th meeting at the Plaza Club and give Chelle our warm West Honolulu Rotary greeting.

Please come and join the club social picnic on Aug 5, Sunday at Ala Moana beach park, chaired by our President, Stan Wong, who will put up a tent, members please bring a dish and your families to celebrate a summer fun with the 3 students, from the sister club Kyoto-West, who will be visiting Hawaii from 7/31 - 8/10/2018.

WHR club members,

 

Our first Board meeting of the Rotary year will be Aug. 18, Saturday, at 5:00PM at my house.  The club Assembly will follow at about 6 PM.  The agenda will include preparing for the DG visit in Sept..I emailed his agenda a few weeks ago. As we get closer to our Aug. date, I will send a detailed agenda. Thanks for your great support.  Lets keep up this attendance at the meetings.
