Presidential Message
Dr. Stanley Wong, DDS, President of West Honolulu Rotary Club (2018-2019)

On June 30th, our Rotary club had our installation dinner at the Hale Koa Hotel and we all had a wonderful time celebrating the closing of President Kristi Hirota-Schmidt's Rotary year and installing me as the new President.  We should all thank Kristi for her unselfish work and leadership this past year.  I have some large "stiletto heels" to fill!!  We watched as a new member, Glenn Suzuki was inducted, an award was presented to Grace Fujiyoshi, a $5,000. donation was given to Palama Settlement and several guests won prizes from our raffle.

A new President and board begins a new Rotary year, but your enthusiastic showing at the banquet gives great hope that this coming year will be more fun and there will be greater participation by the membership in all our activities including meetings, projects and donations.  We have great service projects in the works, Pau Hana parties on the 4th Friday of the month and more socials to come.  We all need to get involved to insure growth of our club...to make it more robust and vibrant.  This means "Ask not what Rotary can do for You", but what you can do to "Make a Difference in the World."  So follow the new motto and "Be the Inspiration" for this coming year!
