At the August 27 meeting, we will have several members from our club speak at the meeting:
Below are the bios for the speakers: Kirt Kobashigawa and Melissa Pang.
Kurt was born and raised in Kaneohe. Both my grandfather and my father owned construction companies, so I grew up on the Jobsite from my early elementary school days. I graduated from Hawaii Baptist Academy in 1991 and got my Finance degree from Santa Clara University in 1995. After college, I stayed in the Bay Area where I met my wife Tracy and had my two kids, Kaden and Kaylee. We moved back to Hawaii in 2009, where I went back into business with my father doing residential construction. In 2019, I started my own company, Koolau Roof Tech, specializing in asphalt shingle rejuvenation.
Melissa was born and raised in Honolulu and graduated from Maryknoll High School in 1998. I received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. I attended the University of Washington, where I graduated with a Master's in Occupational Therapy in 2005. I began my career as an Occupational Therapist working in the outpatient clinic in hand therapy at Valley Medical Center in Renton, Washington. In 2008, I returned home to work at Straub Medical Center as their primary outpatient Occupational Therapist. I continued to focus on the specialty of hand therapy and received my designation as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2013. I met my husband, Kit, in Honolulu and are semi-newly weds of almost 3 years. We are now newly proud parents to newborn Emily Ann Chi Yee Kwok, who was born on 7/7/2021.
