The speakers for the Friday, Oct 25 meeting will be from the American Foudation for Suicide Prevention.  Suicide is a leading cause of death in Hawaii yet many are reluctant to approach the subject due to shame, stigma, and misunderstanding. By raising awareness around suicide prevention and the impact of suicide, we can all play a role in averting another loss of a loved one. Learn more about the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and our efforts to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

Kathleen became involved with AFSP Hawaii in 2005 when she lost her Brother Michael to suicide. Kathleen is the Chair of the Rotary Action group for Mental Health Initiatives for District 5000. Karen Ng has been involved with the HI Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention since 2021 when she moved to Oahu from Los Angeles.
