September 10th Club Meeting
Our speaker for September 10 at Noon on Zoom is Alan Lee.  He  is the DOE Complex Academic Officer for the Farrington-Kaiser-Kalani Complex. He overseeing instructional supports for all learners and managing the Divisions of Teaching and Learning, Special Education, and English Language Learners.  Alan will be talking about initiatives and possible projects with the schools.
 
The Rotary theme for September is Basic Education and Literacy. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults. We take action to empower educators to inspire learning at all ages by Mentoring Students, do Teacher Training and fight adult illiteracy.  The Rotary Foundation supports education through scholarships, donations, and service projects around the world. 
 
Give Aloha - Donate to HRYF In September
Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation (HRYF) is participating in Give Aloha, Foodland’s Annual Community Matching Gifts Program.  This program honors Foodland’s founder, Maurice J. "Sully" Sullivan, and continues his legacy of giving back to the community. 
In September, go to Foodland, present your Maika'i card, make the donation to Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation's code:  77199.  E-mail your receipt with your name and club name to:
