AMBER LANI PAHINUI STEPHENS AND ANDREA KAMEALOHA PAHINUI
Amber Lani Pahinui Stephens and Andrea Kamealoha Pahinui are Legendary Slack Key Artist and David Malo Award Recipient Cyril Pahinui’s natural daughters with his first wife, Margaret McDonald Pahinui.
Amber and Andrea have fond memories of growing up with their Dad, Cyril, in Waimanalo and the Pahinui ‘Ohana – including their mother’s twin Ruth, who married Cyril’s younger brother, Martin Pahinui.
The Pahinui family was very close, and “music was always around.” Palani Vaughn, Atta Isaacs, Peter Moon, Joe Kupahu, Melveen Leed, Roland Cazimero … and many others would drop by the house to “jam,” or improvise slack key Hawaiian music.
Cyril is very proud of his mo’opuna (grandchildren) – Amber has 5 children: Po’okela, Lanakila, Kilinoe, Ke’ahi, and Ka’uluwehi. Andrea’s three children are Jacob, Tehani and Josiah.
