Dr. Ryan Smith, DO
Dr. Ryan Smith, DO started with Hawaii Heart Associates in 2021 as one of the founding cardiologists. Prior to that he served in the United States Army for 15 years as an internal medicine physician and cardiologist to include two deployments to Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain and 101st Airborne Divisions.
He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to train at Tripler Army Medical Center as well as the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for cardiology fellowship. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Smith graduated with a business degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.
Within the field of cardiology, he has an interest in pacemaker and ICD implantation, echocardiography, and cholesterol management.
It is a personal goal of his to start the first primary prevention cholesterol clinic in Hawaii as well as advance awareness for sudden cardiac death and CPR training/AED education in the community.
Outside of his professional practice, he enjoys golfing, surfing, diving and running. This past year, he completed his fourth marathon with hopes to continue that tradition yearly.
Dr Smith is currently affiliated with Castle Medical Center, Kuakini Medical Center, Maui Memorial Medical Center and Hilo Medical Center.
