Kristen Levitt is the Director of Project Partner. She, along with her organization, are determined to end the Poverty Crisis in rural China. Combing a mix of professional leadership and fundraising strategy, Kristen rallys individuals and organizations to join together to fight poverty in China. In 2015 her organization impacted 1,079,762 people in rural China.

Kristen has traveled to China 24 times in the past seven years. No, she doesn’t speak much Mandarin. But, she’s learning. China’s become her second home. She gracefully crosses cultures to work with a local team of Chinese leaders. Together they develop sustainable solutions to help locals overcome poverty in rural China.

If you hang around Kristen much, you’re bound to hear her challenge you to “Be part of Something Larger than Yourself”. She believes every person has a unique passion and skill set that can be used to help others. Whether someone joins with Project Partner or not, Kristen strongly encourages everyone to make a positive impact on their community and planet.

Kristen’s Nikon camera is her favorite accessory. She takes it almost everywhere, even to China. In fact, her first exposes to Project Partner was when she was in high school. She traveled as a photojournalist, capturing stories and images. She had no idea that years later, she’d lead the organization. You’ve probably seen many of Kristen’s images if you’ve visited Projectpartner.org.

Kristen is also a member of the Rotary Club of Maui. She lives in Kihei with her husband, Josh Levitt. When they’re not behind a computer, they enjoy exploring Maui’s beaches and trails…and of course the camera comes too.
