Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I have one last community service project for you to participate in before the end of the President Kristi’s Rotary Year! It’s a beautification project at the Palama Settlement (“PS”).  PS was established in 1896 and is a private, non-profit, community-based social service agency serving the Kalihi and Palama neighborhoods which is located right in our service district.  For the last 120 years, PS has and continues to offer a wide range of educational, recreational, athletic, cultural, social, health, and community building programs and services for children, youth, adults, and senior citizens. Its mission is to partner with those who have the greatest needs in the community and empowering them to enhance their well-being through education, health and recreation.

PS needs our help to maintain its heavily used facilities as it starts of up its summer programs. PS has asked us our club to partner up with PS to remove overgrown weeds, vegetation and debris from certain high traffic areas and to place gravel and potted plants in these areas to enhance its well-worn facilities. PS will provide all of the materials and equipment needed. Only your hands, smiling faces and energy are needed.

The event kicks off at the Palama Settlement on June 16, 2018, at 9 a.m. and is expected to take a total of two hours.

Please lend a helping hand to PS by signing up for this event. The work will help to ensure that PS continues on with tradition of helping those in need and supporting the youth in the community.
