Our Holiday part on December 13, 5:00pm at Waialae Country Club reach to full capacity, thank you for signing up early.  See the flyer and menu at the end of this page.  Cost is $81.00 per adult, Children under 6 eat for free.  $41 for Children under 12.
Please mail in the payment prior to the party, NO CASH transaction at Waialae Country Club, because I booked the event that all WHR are my guest to enjoy the membership cost of the meal.
 
 
Christmas Caroling at Arcadia on Dec 7th, 3-4pm our PP Doug Yee who have been a great support to the club in decades.  Including booked the recreation room at his Kalani condo on Queen St for our assembly and other social events. Parking is tight, so if you meet at Stan's house at 28 Akamu Pl by 2pm, we can carpool to Arcadia.  Stan said you can lip sync, if you don't have a good voice.
 
The last club meeting of the calendar year will be on Thursday, Dec 19, Noon (The Edge is not available on the 20th.) We hold our Club's Annual meeting to elect our board for 2025-2026.  The meeting speaker is our own Cherie Martyn. 
 
The next club assembly is on January 25 , 2025,  Speakers will be the 3 kids that went to Student Exchange program in Kyoto this past July 2024. All member's  children or grand children interested in participating in 2026 Kyoto youth exchange are invited.
 5-7pm at One Ala Moana, 6th floor party room, 1555 Kapiolani Blvd.  The 3 students who went to Kyoto will do their presentation on their experience. Spouses/partners are welcome. Wes says it is BYOB.

 We will have a Pau Hana Fellowship will held at Waikiki Yacht Club on 19 Feb at 5 pm.  More detail will come at the next newsletter.

 
Next year is the year of the Snake, the Chinese New Years dinner will be on Feb 1, 5:30pm at Jade Dynasty, Private room.  Guests welcome.  $55 
 
2025  District Conference will be held at the Ala Moana Hotel May 30-Jun 1. Registration fee increases Dec 31 to $410.  More info at:  https://rotaryd5000.org/sitepage/district-conference-2025-ala-moana/

Rotary Club of Makati West 55th Anniversary
Glen Suzuki, Mike Kato and Elvira Lo did the visit to Makati West Rotary in Manila on 11/11-14/2024.  They extended this 55th Anniversary to a 3 day events.  Including golf, shooting range, Museum visit, lunch at the old district, Welcome reception at the prestige Manila Golf club house.  Banquet at the Shangri la Hotel .

Warmest greetings from Taipei!

It gives us immense pleasure to announce the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Taipei West Rotary Club at the Grand Hotel Taipei on March 18, 2025. We would like to warmly invite you and the members of your Club to come to Taipei and join us to celebrate this special occasion. We are pleased to present the agenda of the Anniversary Celebration programs on March 17-18, as well as a list of selected hotel accommodations, and a registration form for events and activities (see attached). Our heartfelt thanks go to you all for your continuous support of our club over the years.  WHR president will give a 3-minute speech to all attendees during the Commemorative Ceremony Banquet and would appreciate receiving a written speech as well as a recent photo of your president by December 18, 2024.

Furthermore, we will make all necessary preparations to assist you and to ensure that your Spring visit to Taipei will be pleasant and joyful. Please fill out the registration form at your earliest convenience and send it back to us by December 18, 2024.

Please feel free to arrange for your own travel plans through your travel agencies. The Ambassador Hotel, which had been our primary venue for the past decades, is now under reconstruction. Nevertheless, we have made special arrangements with four hotels which offer discounted rates for visitors from aboard during our Anniversary Celebration for your consideration. The discounted rates offered by the selected hotels are time-limited. Please reply by December 18, 2024.
