In honor of Kamehameha Day, our speaker on June 4th is Zita Cup Choy, a historian at The Friends of Iolani Palace. She will be speaking about the significance of Kamehameha Day.
She has been the historian since 2019, maintaining and expanding records related to the history of the palace, but has volunteered at the Palace since 2003. She provides research support for curatorial and media projects, is a content teacher for docent and in-service training, and conducts regular, media and vip tours. She also is a volunteer docent / researcher for Washington Place. Washington Place, Hawaii's governors residence since 1918. She also volunteered at Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii, doing the clerical work for their Uncontested Divorce Clinics.
The COVID surge has spilled over to Nepal and they are in a crisis situation with all the emergency facilities at overcapacity.
