Rotary Club of Kyoto West Rotary

Hello WHR members, this year we will receive 2 students from Kyoto West Rotary, 1 boy and 1 girl, from 7/22 - 8/2/2025.  This program have been going on for several decades.

Let's all work together to help to give the students a memorable visit to Honolulu.  Terry will send a sign up sheet shortly after receive the students' application, and myself as the International Chair is already working with Kyoto West's International Sister Chair.  I want to thank you in advance to Derek Tann, Stan Wong and Janis Chun who inform me that they can provide lodging during the visit.  Mahalo for hosting.

June 13 - Ululani Karen Victor, employed at UH College of Education. Presently co-president of Hawaii Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary educational organization. Well versed in Hawaiiana and has a good sense of humor.  Topic: some aspect of Hawaiiana.

WHR 75th Anniversary Celebration Oct 2025
WHR will be celebration the 75th Anniversary from Oct 16 - 18, 2025.  The Event chair and committees are working very hard to craft a spectacular celebration for this milestone.
All members and families are invited to attend along with our 6 Sister Clubs' members and spouses, they are Tokyo West, Kyoto West, Taipei West, Hong Kong Island West, Makati West and Nagoya Airport.

Purchasing School Supplies for Fern Elementary
We have $836.46 in grant funds to spend before the end of May so I have made arrangements with Principal Glen Miyasato of Fern Elementary School in Kalihi to join me at Fischer Hawaii in Mapunapuna to buy schools supplies for his school on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2 pm.
 
I'm looking for volunteers to join me with Principal Miyasato to purchase school supplies at Fisher Hawaii in Mapunapuna on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2 o'clock p.m.  If you are interested please email me and note your attendance in google docs.

Happy Memorial Day !  Absolutely — a heartfelt salute to all the Veterans.  Thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to protecting our freedoms. Your service to the nation is deeply honored and appreciated — today and every day. We are proud of you.

The Mayor invited Elvira Lo to attend the Memorial day Celebration at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific this morning and met U.S. Indo-Pacific Commander Admiral Samuel Paparo.

Meeting will resume on May 30, 2025.

Tokyo West Rotary 70th Anniversary Celebration.  Welcome dinner and boat cruise with full lunch buffet - sushi, seafood paella etc.  Second middle picture was the display of all the Presidents gift. from 4 Sister Clubs.  Naomi gave a Banyan Tree of Maui.

Our regular meetings are held at The Edge at 31 North Pauahi. We need a head count by Tuesday each week before the meeting, please sign up on the Google form CLICK HERE or via the emailed invite. Address : 31 North Pauahi Street, between Nuuanu and Smith, private room the the back, parking at Municipal lot at 1-35 N Beretania St.  Payment by credit card only. If you didn't sign up, please join us and get your food upfront in the restaurant.
