Partners in Care – Welcome Kits #3 (Fri June 25, 4p)

We are DARK for Club Assembly...so NO MTG. (Fri June 25, 2021) @12n...

Please join us on the upcoming service projects, details are noted below:

Friday, June 25 – Welcome Kits #3

Project: Partners in Care – Welcome Kits #3

Date and time: Friday, June 25 at 4:00 pm – until pau

Location: Partners in Care – 200 N. Vineyard Blvd, Ste A-210, Honolulu, HI 96817

Description: With the remaining District 5000 grant monies, WHR purchased supplies for approximately 24 Welcome Kits to welcome individuals and families who are moving from houselessness into a permanent home. We will be assembling these kits with the supplies we were able to purchase.

Parking instructions: Please feel free to park in the guest parking stalls. Enter the Aloha United Way Building A, sign in (you’ll be visiting “Partners in Care”), and ask the security guard to buzz you up. If you are the first to arrive, please ask for Kim Watts or Berta Maldonado.

Organization background: Partners in Care (PIC) is a planning, coordinating, and advocacy alliance that develops recommendations for programs and services to fill needs within O‘ahu’s Continuum of Care for a homeless person. In response to additional CARES funding, PIC created O‘ahu House Now, which provides O‘ahu with the opportunity to house and help 300+ households. However, the federal funding’s restrictions do not allow for purchases of needed household items. PIC welcomes the community to donate full or partial Welcome Kits, which include basic housing starter supplies and essential household items to assist households in the first steps to rebuilding their lives.

Nepal Disaster Relief D5000 Fund
The COVID surge has spilled over to Nepal and they are in a crisis situation with all the emergency facilities at overcapacity.  Our contacts in Nepal at Dhading Hospital are short of oxygen equipment and PPEs.  The District has set up a disaster fund account with the District 5000 Foundation.  If you would like to donate, use this link or go to the district website:

Thanks!

Health Systems Strained To The Limit As COVID-19 Surges In Nepal

The catastrophic second wave of COVID-19 cases that hit India first has spread to nearby nations especially Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Very low levels of vaccination in most South Asian countries (less than 10 percent in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal) are adding to concern that the virus will spiral even further.

Thanks!
