District Conference and RI Convention 2025

The District Conference is May 30-June 1, 2025 at the Ala Moana Hotel. If you would like to join Rotarians from around the State, please register. It's $410 for the conference. Click here to register.

Rotary Club of Tokyo West 70th Anniversary and more

If you plan to attend Rotary Club of Tokyo West 70th Anniversary, please let Naomi know.

We have 11 Rotarians and spouses leaving this weekend to attend the Rotary Club of Taipei West 70th Anniversary Celebration on Mar 17 and Mar 18. Top picture was the Welcome dinner at the Mayfull Hotel, they have 8 sister clubs, approx. close to 200 sister club members attended, along with their club members around 250 people. After party was at the Bar Lounge. Next day was National Museum visit.

Next pictures were 70th Anniversary Celebration dinner at the Grand Hotel total guests 500 people.

Annual Speech Festival on April 5, 2025

Honolulu District DOE Elementary Speech Festival Saturday, April 5th

McKinley High School - Volunteer judges are needed

Tentative Schedule:

7am breakfast followed by instructions

8am report to assigned rooms

8:30 session 1; 10:00 session 2

Students in grades 3 through 5 participate in categories of choral reading,

group interpretation, oral interpretive reading, poetry, storytelling; all noncompetitive events.

11:15 Awards Assembly

For a bunch of years, West Honolulu Rotarians have actively participated as speech festival judges. Your participation would be greatly appreciated again. Please contact Grace Fujiyoshi if you are able to be a judge. This is a very rewarding community service project.

We need to give Chris at The Edge the head count on Tuesdays before the meeting so he can prepare enough food for us.

Tentative service projects: Cleigh and Brittany are working on a project for Child & Family Services soon and Farrington High is working on an environmental project. Stay tuned for details coming soon.
