The Lunar New Year in 2025 welcomes the Year of the Snake, according to the Chinese lunar calendar. In 2025, Lunar New Year falls on January 29, kicking off the 16-day Spring Festival. As we move from the energetic and dynamic Year of the Dragon, 2025 brings the Snake’s wise and intuitive energy. The Snake, symbolizing wisdom and transformation, offers opportunities for personal growth and change.
Our annual New Year festivities will be on Saturday, February 1 at Jade Dynasty. Organizers Janis Chun, Chrysti Chun and Melissa Pang have put together a wonderful event. Menu: Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, Golden Fried Chicken with Roasted Garlic, Braised Pork Ribs in Chef's Special Sauce with buns, Sweet & Sour Fish Filet, Tea Smoked Tiger Shrimp, Chinese Goodluck Jai, Seafood Fried Rice with Garlic and Mango Pudding.
The next club assembly is on January 25 , 2025, Speakers will be the 3 kids that went to Student Exchange program in Kyoto this past July 2024. All member's children or grand children interested in participating in 2026 Kyoto youth exchange are invited.

Patrick J. Foehr My name is Patrick J Foehr, but I go by PJ. I have been an educator for 35 years as a teacher, administrator and consultant in elementary and secondary schools, in private and public schools (mostly public), and worked with a variety of socio-economic levels and second language learners. I lived and taught in Saipan for two and one half years back in the 1990s. I currently work as the Deputy Director for the Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission.
