Mustafa Shirzad is an Economist for the Hawai'i Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), where he works on developing the State's tourism demand and economic forecasting models. His broader work spans economic impact analysis and economic development, including published State reports on economic diversification, Hawaii's business climate, and the economic contributions of international students and high-technology grant programs. In his previous roles, he worked on fiscal policy and public financial management. Mustafa holds a master's in economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, specializing in causal inference and macro-econometrics.

I thought he can share some work that he is doing on capital improvements at UH. Michael Shibata is currently the Director of Strategic Development and Partnership for the University of Hawai‘i System. Prior to joining the University, he served as the Director of Real Estate for the Lili‘uokalani Trust from 2015 to 2021. He also previously worked for Stanford Carr Development and PBR Hawaii. Shibata holds Bachelor degrees in Economics and Political Science, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. |
