Rotarians in District had an opportunity of contributing additional funds to HRYF through the Together We Give Thanks. What is Together We Give Thanks? It was a special program for community organizations to participate in, providing an additional way to receive additional contributions, with matching funds from Foodland. At the check out when shopping at Foodland during the month of September, please donate to Foodland’s Give Aloha program for Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation and use 77199.

Reminder to register for the David Malo event by October 1. Since 1957, the Rotary Club of West Honolulu annually recognized a leader of Hawaiian ancestry who has made a difference in Hawaii; someone whose accomplishments have epitomized the idea of high achievement in such fields as art, music, dance, education, science, government, religion, business or sports. On November 15, 2024, we are honoring Henry Kapono. Henryis a performer who has it all – vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, composer, audience favorite—and multiple honors and awards, including a Grammy nomination. The evening will begin with a no-host cocktail reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., followed by a special opening ceremony, dinner, and program. The cost per individual is $130. A few facts about our Sister Club. The Rotary Club of Nagoya Airport was founded on July 29, 1974, is in District 2760 and has 48 members. They meet on Monday's at 12:30pm at the Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel. The Chairman (President) is Kazuhiko Konda said in his inaugaral message, "Looking to the future, I would like to cherish and nurture the contact with Toyoyama Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the club is located, that I was able to establish last year. In addition, I believe that in order to remain a sustainable club, we must put all our efforts into strengthening the club, including increasing its membership." Their club theme is "Our Changing club, looking to the past and the future". They are celebrating their 50th anniversary on October 5-6.
