Saturday, April 27, 10:00am to 12:30pm, we have a service project to assist the Child and Family Services, an organization for the past 125 years, has been one of Hawaiʻi’s largest nonprofits providing family-strengthening services from twinkle to wrinkle.
Here is information regarding the project "Assembling Welcome Baskets for the Child & Family Service Residential Programs":
Date: Saturday April 27th from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm at
Location: Child & Family Service Campus, 91-1841 Ft. Weaver Rd, Ewa Beach, HI 96706
Attire: comfortable clothing and footwear
Project: assemble various welcome gift baskets for families with children, individuals (male or female), and teens.
The welcome baskets will be gifted to those who are staying in the various CFS residential programs (domestic violence shelter, teen crisis homes, etc.) Donated items are welcomed to include in the Welcome Baskets (i.e. NEW items only- hand soaps, towels, blanket/throws, eco bag, coffee mug, etc.). Easy project, bring friends and family. Coordinator Brittany Adaniya and Cici Fong.
Their statewide community programs include preschool education, prevention of child abuse and neglect, programs for at-risk youth, domestic violence emergency services, therapeutic counseling, employment assistance, programs for elder care, and more. Within the past fiscal year (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023) alone, CFS provided direct services, to 15,691 individuals and touched another 110,000 lives through phone calls, referrals, educational presentations, and by providing for those visiting walk-in family centers

We have 3 students that are planning to attend the Kyoto Youth Exchange Program this Summer. Richard Ing's twin, and Christi Chun's second son.
Ater Kyoto West Rotary Club's meeting on April 8, their sister club chair confirmed us that the visitation date is 7/18-7/30/2024. They are happy and look forward to receive our students.
We had lost 2 long time members, Edward Ane, who was the Sergeant at Arm for a long time and diligently collection lunch dues at each regular meeting.
Roland Chun Past President 2004-2005, retired from First Hawaiian Bank, past away on April 21, he always host WHR Assembly at his house for many years. He had chaired the youth exchange program with Kyoto West Rotary for decades, and he started the sister club relationship with Hong Kong Island West Rotary because of his Iolani School classmate Richard Ho is a member of HKIWR, and this relationship has been on going for 43 years. They carried the spirit of Rotary fellowship and commitment to the mission of Rotary. They will be deeply missed.
