Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders. Our programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service. The youth programs include Interact clubs in middle and high schools, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA is a weekend camp for high schoolers on Oahu), Youth Exchange and New Generations Service Exchange. There are 10,000 Interact club in the work, 32 in Hawaii and the Rotary Club of West Honolulu sponsors the Interact Club at Farrington High School. Youth Exchange is a formal program for students 15-19 who can stay short term or long term (1 year) and are sponsored by clubs in 100 countries. To participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange program, the District goes through a certification process and participating clubs and families do youth protection training and background checks. Rotaract clubs for college students and young adults have been elevated and is now a membership type.

There is a golf tournament on Friday and the District conference starts on Friday night with a Kanikapila under the stars and a gala dinner on Saturday night. The conference will highlight the awesome projects we have done in our District and we'll have a few keynote speaker in between, but it'll be fun, fellowship and food!
