Dear Fellow Rotarian, I am pleased to inform you that our Rotary Club recently donated $2,750 in grant funds to Likelike Elementary and Kalihi Uka Elementary Schools for student and teacher school supplies. I and a few members, Wes Fong, Cleigh Pang, Jeff Pang, and Glen Suzuki Rotarians met Kalihi Uka's Principal, Derek Santos, at Fisher Hawaii on Wednesday, June 25, 2024, at 10 a.m. after purchasing $1,000 worth of school supplies with Grant money recently given to his school. Friday, June 21st, club meeting speaker was Hanahau’oli School Hawaiian culture facilitator Blair Sataraka. Head of school Lia Woo accompanied him. School’s mission is learn by doing and the teacher is guide on the side.
July 12 meeting will have a picture slide show for the Hong Kong Island West 70th Anniversary, for those who went and if you want to share your experience, please join us at this lunch meeting. July 5 is dark due to July 4 Independence Day. We will resume our signature event David Malo Award Banquet on Nov. 15, 2024 at Waialae Country Club, the planning committee and Chair Richard Ing are working very hard to put together an exciting evening. |
